NCTM Regional Conference in Richmond: November 12 - 14

VCTM Reminders


November 29 - Karen Dee Michalowicz First Timers Grant applications are due.
This grant provides funding to VCTM members who have NOT previously attended a regional or annual NCTM meeting or anyone (including non-members) who wishes to attend a VCTM Conference or Academy for the FIRST TIME. More information and application forms can be found at www.vctm.org


November 10 - Math Beauty Contest begins. The problem for each of the levels and other information about the contest will be posted on the website, www.vctm.org. Entries must be postmarked by January 16, 2015.

January 1, 2015: EDWARD A ANDERSON SCHOLARSHIP applications are due.
Full time students who are Virginia residents and attend a four-year Virginia College or University are eligible to apply. Students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program with a concentration or major in mathematics and plan to teach mathematics in a Virginia school. More information and an application can be found at www.vctm.org


MARCH 6 – 7, 2015: VCTM ACADEMY – MAKING MATH MEANINGFUL: INQUIRY LEARNING THROUGH PROCESS GOALS
The academy will be held at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center. Registration can now be done at www.vctm.org. You must be a VCTM member to register. You will need to register for one of the grade bands: K – 2, 3 – 5, 6 – 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and above. The annual awards banquet, for which a separate registration is needed, will be Friday, March 6.
