LTF<\/a> (Lint Trap Kit) is designed to vent inside the home. Do not<\/u><\/strong> use a gas dryer with this product; gas fumes would be vented inside the home and could result in increased carbon monoxide levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EX12<\/a> (Extra Heat-Heat Saver) can be hooked up to divert heat inside a room. Same as the LTF<\/a>, a gas dryer venting inside a home can result in increased carbon monoxide levels.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

UL 181 is the materials requirement in the fabrication of air duct and air connector systems.  The standard was created by taking into consideration a vast array of safety-related installation circumstances regarding flammability and structural integrity.  The tests required to qualify the material for this standard apply to both flexible and rigid ducts. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

No! The proper items are A0 products<\/a> (semi-rigid aluminum duct UL181 and UL 2158A), F0 products<\/a> (Foil dryer transition duct UL 2158A), Solid aluminum pipe or 28 gauge galvanized pipe. Always verify with local building code requirements. Deflecto manufactures and sells all of these products.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

HOW DO I PREVENT BIRDS FROM BUILDING NESTS IN MY DRYER VENT?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>

Deflecto makes a Universal Bird Guard<\/a>. Designed to prevent birds and rodents from entering your dryer or bathroom vent, the bird guard mounts over any existing 3-inch or 4-inch wide-mouth or louvered vent. Attach our bird guard with screws. When using over a dryer vent hood, make sure to clean it regularly to prevent lint build-up.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY DRYER DUCT AND VENT HOOD?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>

You should clean or replace your dryer duct at least twice a year. A clean duct reduces drying time, puts less stress on your dryer, and, most importantly, protects your family and home from fire. Remember to check your dryer vent hoods periodically and remove lint or other debris, if present.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND TO CLEAN OUT MY DRYER VENTING?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>

Deflecto offers a dryer cleaning kit (item DVBOXKIT<\/a>) that will allow you to clean out your duct in hard to reach places. It is important to remember to clean the back of your dryer as well and always remember to clean your dryer’s lint trap after each use. MY DRYER’S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION STATES THAT IF I USE A VINYL HOSE TO DUCT MY DRYER, THE WARRANTY TIL BE VOID. WHY?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>

Vinyl hose creates static electricity. When warm moist lint travels through the duct, it adheres to the wall of the vinyl. This results in a reduction of airflow, causes backpressure and makes the dryer have to work harder, possibly overheating and perhaps resulting in a dryer fire. Deflecto has excellent replacement products for your plastic and vinyl duct, like Semi-Rigid Duct<\/a>, Flexible Metallic Duct<\/a>, and Supurr-Flex Metallic Duct<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yes, we manufacture custom products. The Engineering staff begins with a customer approved CAD drawing of the product. The material is then selected, prototypes are made for customer approval, resulting in finished custom products. When customers make the volume of units manufactured as large as possible, it does reduce the final cost per unit.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY WARNING TRIANGLE KIT?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>
    \n

    An Emergency Warning Triangle (EWT) Kit <\/a>contains 3 reflective triangles with weighted bases.  To meet Federal requirements, commercial motor vehicles weighing greater than 10,000 lbs. are required to place the warning triangles outside of the vehicle if it is stopped on the shoulder of a highway for any cause other than necessary traffic stops to warn approaching traffic of the presence of a stopped vehicle.  Each warning device has instructions for its assembly and display.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    DO I NEED TO USE A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE EMBLEM?<\/h4><\/div><\/span><\/div>
    \n

    The Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) Emblem <\/a>is an important safety precaution to alert other drivers on the road of a vehicle that is not moving as fast as they are so that they have time to adjust their speed.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A guideline is any vehicle that cannot keep up with 25 mph consistently should have the SMV emblem mounted on it when on a public roadway.  Bikes, mopeds or other vehicles that are not expected to operate at speeds over 25 mph are exempt from having a SMV emblem.  However, sometimes mopeds and all-terrain vehicles are used on the farm and operated under a special restricted operator\u2019s license.  If this case, your state may require an emblem. It is best to contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles to see what the rules are for your area. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    A Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) Emblem<\/a> should be mounted with the triangle point up on the rear of the vehicle and on or near the centerline. The base of the triangle should be 2-6 feet above the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
